Meet Gus – Your Next Adventure Buddy!
Gus is a 2.5-year-old, neutered Husky with a big personality to match his big size! This handsome boy is full of energy, affection, and just the right amount of stubbornness to keep life interesting. He’s playful, intelligent, and always up for a game of chase or a cuddle session.
About Gus:
- Breed: Husky
- Age: 2.5 years old
- Size: Large
- Health: Neutered, up to date on vaccinations, no known medical issues
- Housebroken? Mostly—if given regular potty breaks. He has occasionally peed in his sleep after drinking a lot of water, but the vet has ruled out infections. This does not happen often. Recommend limited water at night.
- Crate Trained? Knows the command and will go in, but if he doesn’t want to stay, he’s a skilled escape artist!
- Training: Knows sit, down, and touch. He’s smart and food-motivated but needs firm, consistent reinforcement.
Gus’s Personality & Behaviors:
- Dog-Friendly? Yes! He loves playing at the dog park, though he may initially raise his hackles before warming up. He enjoys jumping over other dogs while playing!
- Kid-Friendly? Lives with a baby and is gentle, but supervision is recommended.
- Cat-Friendly? Lives with cats but has a prey drive—he has chased and “treed” a cat before. He may nip at a food-obsessed cat trying to steal his food.
- Resource Guarding? Does not guard toys or treats from people but will guard food from animals.
- Fearful of Anything? Loud machinery, trucks, and vacuums can spook him.
- Barker? Yes—he barks at passing dogs, occasionally at strangers, and will howl along with sirens or tornado warnings!
- Energy Level? High! He thrives on playtime, running, and mental stimulation.
The Ideal Home for Gus:
Gus needs an active home that understands Huskies and their energy levels. A fenced yard, regular exercise, and someone willing to continue his training will help him thrive. He’d love a doggy playmate or a family that enjoys outdoor adventures.
If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving, and sometimes goofy companion, Gus might be your perfect match!
