NorthStar WI Dog Rescue and Advocacy is offering a courtesy posting for this dog currently living in our community. We have not met or assessed this dog. It’s our mission to help dogs in all situations find their Fur-Ever home.
Meet Juno!
Juno is a stunning and intelligent young female German Shepherd looking for a home that understands and appreciates her natural protective instincts. She is deeply loyal to her people, and thrives in a home where she can bond closely with her owner. True to her breed, Juno is highly alert and devoted, always eager to watch over her family and provide companionship.
Living Situation & Ideal Home:
Juno has a strong protective nature, particularly toward her female owner, and can be wary of strangers. She needs a calm, structured home with an experienced handler who can continue to build her confidence and reinforce positive interactions. She would do best in a household without small children, as she takes her guardian role seriously. A securely fenced yard is ideal, giving her space to run and explore safely.
Training & Personality:
Juno is a highly intelligent, trainable dog who responds well to guidance and structure. She knows basic commands and is eager to please, especially with positive reinforcement. While she has a sweet and affectionate side with her trusted humans, she needs slow introductions to new people and will benefit from ongoing socialization and confidence-building exercises. She is crate trained and voluntarily rests in her crate.
Other Pets:
Juno’s compatibility with other dogs depends on the situation. She is currently leash reactive but loves to play with other dogs at the dog park. She may do well with a balanced, confident canine companion but would also be happy as the only pet in the home. She has not been tested with cats.
What She Needs:
- An experienced adopter who understands German Shepherds and their protective instincts
- A structured, patient home willing to continue training and socialization
- A quiet environment where she can feel secure and build trust with her people
- A home without small children and ideally without frequent visitors
Medical:
Juno is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and does not have any medical issues.
